For consumers, there is actually no need to be familiar with the dry regulations of the standards, as long as they know that "the higher the level of HEPA, the higher the purification efficiency" is already sufficient.
So when purchasing an air purifier, if we also consider the filter level as a factor, we can better distinguish the performance strength of the purifier and buy high-quality air purification products. Through market research, it has been found that HEPA filters at levels 12 and 13 are now standard on high-end purifiers, and no air purifier uses HEPA filters higher than level 13.
The new national standard will become the most rational purchasing basis for consumers
The national standard GB/T18801-2015 for air purifiers in China was released in September last year and officially implemented in March this year. At that time, air purifiers sold domestically should pass strict testing according to China's national standards.
This standard provides consumers with multiple indicators as purchasing criteria, such as Clean Air Volume (CADR), Cumulative Purification Capacity (CCM), Applicable Area, Purification Energy Efficiency, Noise Limits, etc. The clean air volume refers to the volume of air that can be purified per hour. The larger the value, the better the purification speed and effect, which is closer to reality than the level of HEPA; Taking CADR as the core, the applicable area obtained by pushing down is also the most intuitive selection parameter; At the same time, the cumulative purification capacity reflects the service life of the filter material. Compared with products of the same price range, a higher CCM value can reflect a higher cost-effectiveness of the product.
Taking LIFAair's LA500 air purifier as an example, after authoritative testing by the China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute, the CADR value for removing particulate matter is as high as 450m3/h, and the CADR value for removing formaldehyde is as high as 137m3/h. The CCM values for both pollutants are far higher than the top standards specified in the new national standard. The H-12 grade HEPA filter installed has also become an important guarantee for the "haze removal" performance, which is worth consumers' confidence in purchasing.
